DR Bound

the list grows longer and longer…..every time I think we’re done…we’re not!!  But that’s what’s expected when we are heading to magical Dominican Republic for vacation!!  For the past 3 days, my life has consisted of working, packing, shopping, and packing some more!  I just found out that the airport in Puerto Plata has a no tolerance for any liquids, not even the 3 oz sample sizes, soooooo  hubby’s plan for only traveling with a carry on has to be axed!  How will I take my all of my hair products, perfume, body wash, lotion, even lip gloss!!!!  the list goes on and on.  After begging and pleading, I had to convince hubby to give me a checked bag “allowance”.   He has been scarred for life after lugging around 11 pieces for our wedding in Jamaica….yes….eleven!!

So now that I actually have a REAL suitcase that I can take REAL stuff in, I am PACKING!  We will be back with loads of DR visual goodness!

Volvemos con un bronceado.  Hasta pronto!  (used our iphone spanish translation app to sound fancy…hahaha)

Have a wonderful trip. Can’t wait to see your pics!

A Wedding!! {Kelvin + Adia}

Dancers, celebrities, actors, and creative artists all under one roof to represent one love!! Positive vibrations were through the roof! Kelvin and Adia have the most wonderful energy and spirit!  The second we shot their engagement session, we secretly hoped to be able to shoot their wedding.  You cannot think of them as a couple and not smile.  It’s nearly impossible!!  Vows spoken in French, a full 32-count combination with Uncle Bruce and Adia,  and most importantly…FEET!!! (Dancers will know what that means…lol)…..what more could we ask for!!!

Being a former dancer myself (Marsha speaking…..lol), I had to contain all of my might to not embarrass myself by doing a circle of wobbly pirouettes and pique turns around every corner of the room.  Brian constantly reminded me over and over,  “you can’t do that anymore“.  Well I still take zumba classes at the local gym….that should count, right??? …umm NO!! lol

So I stuck to doing what we do best….capturing moments in time.  Genuine love filled the room as family and friends shared warm sentiments about Kelvin and Adia’s love and we were so lucky to witness it firsthand.  Thank you for allowing us to do so!!

Thank you so much Ms. Fields! It was truly an honor to meet you and your entire family! Blessings!!

4 years later…..May 10th!

Wow!!  I can’t believe it’s actually here!  No really..the real date!!  Not just the monthly date that we celebrate each month.  The date that confuses my mom every 30 days when I call to tell her that we are celebrating our ANNIVERSARY!!!  She get’s so excited, then reminds me that we didn’t get married in January.  Then I have to remind her by saying, “I know Ma…You know we celebrate our anniversary each month on the 10th”.  Then she laughs and calls us cute.

When we arrived in Jamaica for our destination wedding, we barely got the bags in the door before Brian claimed horizontal territory over the ENTIRE bed.  Secretly, I  was a bit envious because while he was “chillaxing”, I was swamped with assembling out of town goodie boxes for our guests, but I quickly got over that feeling after realizing that my DIY project was for our WEDDING and that I would be a married women within 48 hours!!

May 10th came and I couldn’t be more excited.  Excited to call this man my husband.  Excited to experience experiences with him.  Excited to walk this lifelong journey together.  Excited to raise a family.  Excited to be his wife.  When it came time to declare it to the world…..I cried I cried I cried!!!  Not the cute, little sniffle while you smile cry, but the bawl that only a mother could love.  Somehow I was able to get through it and it has been smooth sailing ever since.

Honeymoon consisted of romantic horse rides, climbing waterfall rocks at Dunns River Falls and eating the best food ever, then passing out like teenagers.

Before I prepare for our spa session and romantic dinner tonight, I want to thank you for being on this journey with me.  I DO I DO I DO All over again!  Happy Anniversary Babe!!!!!

Boni + Augustine {Engagement Session}

A long distance love affair….how romantic!   Augustine lives in Canada and is following her heart, soulmate, and best friend, Boni to Los Angeles.  After meeting through a “matchmaker”, also known as Augustine’s brother in law, the sparks began.  We are honored to be apart of their glorious wedding day in July!!

A Wedding!! {Ernie + Michele}

 What is more beautiful than a hilltop malibu ranch overlooking the pacific ocean on a crisp, picture perfect wedding day!  We were truly excited to see Michele and Ernie start their lifelong bond together and feel lucky to have been apart of their journey.  Getting to Rancho Sol Del Pacifico was no easy task due to the narrow, mind boggling windy roads, but it was sooooo well worth it!   The ceremony was cliffside, the band rocked, loved overflowed, bodies moved and we couldn’t get enough.  Thank you for letting us capture your love.  It’s contagious:)
